GOOD WORKS
SPECIAL GOOD WORKS PROJECT CONTRIBUTIONS
- During our September 2011 and May 2012 meetings we collected dozens of jars of
peanut butter sharing it with a representative from the SW VA Food Bank.
This is their most needed food item. We also donated $100 to the SW VA Food
Bank during September 2011.
We also encourage our members to
privately donate as they led directly to the
SW VA Food Bank throughout the chapter year.
"Blue
Ridge CPCU" can be noted in the
check documentation line, if desired. We
have sponsored the SW Food Bank since 1994
as an outreach of our local chapter. Members
are encouraged to make their tax deductible
checks payable to SW VA Food Bank
and send them directly to this worthwhile
organization.

CANDIDATE
DEVELOPMENT
Our
chapter encourages you to participate in spreading the
word on the value of the CPCU program. It makes a difference in a
professional's career and for their employer. The CPCU designation requires
high standards in in education, experience, and ethics. It is a
worthwhile investment for an insurance professional's career.
PROMOTING DIVERSITY
The CPCU Society values our differing talents and backgrounds. All CPCU members
were encouraged to
enter the annual contest by the end of April 2012.
ETHICS
RESOURCES
The Blue Ridge chapter has received the CPCU
national award for Ethics during 2010 and 2012.
During March, our chapter publishes
weekly chapter
newsletters to highlight ethical awareness and best practices. Below are key resources that provide
guidance for ethical conduct:

CELEBRATING OVER 35 YEARS OF
PROFESSIONALISM
During 1975, several dedicated CPCU
professionals saw the need to create the local CPCU chapter we enjoy today in
Southwestern Virginia.
During May 2011, we celebrated our 35th anniversary as a chapter as Barry
Midwood, CPCU Executive, was keynote speaker for our candidate development
program.
